CHAMPS in the woods through a fisheye lens

Isle of Wight band, CHAMPS, release Adeleine, their first single from the fourth album

The first single from the long-awaited fourth album by Isle of Wight band, CHAMPS, has been released today (Wednesday).

Those who saw CHAMPS play live at this year’s Ventnor Fringe Festival were treated to the entire fourth album, as well as many of the classics that brothers Michael and David Champion from Niton are well-loved for.

Once again delivering the goods, Adeleine is an audible treat (listen below) for CHAMPS fans. Produced by the duo, along with James Thorpe at Red Squirrel Studios in Ventnor, the cover artwork was designed by Russel Brook.

Video premiere
Fans tuned in to CHAMPS’s YouTube channel this afternoon to see the premiere of the music video for Adeleine, which was directed by Ollie Wilkinson-Avis.

Filmed in the gorgeous green tunnel of Undercliff Drive, the video ends with one of the brothers’ favourite past times – jumping into water fully clothed (remember all those swimming pools in My Spirit is Broken?).

Always keeping busy
Between 2019-2021, whilst working on the fourth album, Michael was also heavily involved in the creation of fellow Isle of Wighters Wet Leg’s debut album.

Alongside creating music, Michael also works in A&R for Hall or Nothing, whose clients over the years have included the likes of Manic Street Preachers, Oasis, Radiohead and more.

When he’s not making music, David, who is also now based in London, works at a creative production house. Both return to the Island regularly.
