Ryde on the Isle of Wight has been announced as one of 55 towns that will be receiving £20m each over the next ten years as part of the ‘Levelling Up’ programme.
Levels of deprivation, health, skills and pay were considered in the decision of who would receive funding. Several wards in Ryde are within the top 20 per cent most deprived areas in England.
The money will be used to revitalise the high street and tackle anti-social behaviour.
