News OnTheWight can reveal the finalised cabinet roles at Isle of Wight council (IWC) following the change of leadership last month.
New IWC leader, Phil Jordan, has informed all councillors, the Monitoring Officer Chris Potter and the Chief Executive, Wendy Perera of his decision. The changes take effect from Monday 9th October.
The roles
The key details of cabinet roles are as follows:
- Councillor Jordan: Leader, transport and Infrastructure
- Councillor Stephens: Deputy, housing, Finance
- Councillor Bacon: Education, Corporate services
- Councillor Andre: ASC, Public Health
- Councillor Fuller: Planning (unchanged)
- Councillor Jones Evans: Leisure, Regen (unchanged)
- Councillor Lucioni: Community safety, waste (unchanged)
- Councillor Peacey-Wilcox: Climate change, Biosphere
A list of the detailed services under each portfolio will follow.
Councillor Jordan also told News OnTheWight that following a Leaders meeting in the coming week, he will announce plans for enhanced cross-chamber working arrangements.
