Electrically-powered cars are becoming ever more common.
Current battery technology means that their range can be limited.
Happily, the Isle of Wight is a pretty perfect size for this restriction – Perhaps it could become the first all electrical vehicle island in the world?
Before we get to that, people need to charge their vehicles as they make their way around the Island.
A network to charging stations have been placed around the Island – below is a map of the current ones (as at 10 Aug 2016). We’ll update them as and when we hear of changes.
26 July 2017 Update: With today’s news from Government of banning the sale of fossil fuel vehicles by 2040, this map has just gained extra relevance. Since publishing this we haven’t received any notifications of charging points closures from the Isle of Wight council, but a reader has today brought it to our attention that some shown on this map might now be shut. We’ve put a query into the council to find local the working ones and will update when we hear from them.
