Not the news residents who have been flooded want to hear, but the Met Office have issued another weather warning for heavy rain on the Isle of Wight.
The ‘Be Alert’ yellow weather warning is valid from 4am until midday on Thursday and reads:
Further areas of heavy rain are possible across parts of southern England late on Wednesday night, and during Thursday morning.
20 to 30 mm could fall within a period of 3 to 6 hours, and perhaps 40 mm overall; should such amounts fall in areas affected by recent heavy rain (especially the rain which fell over parts of the warning area on Wednesday morning), then further impacts might be expected.
What to expect
- Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
- Where flooding occurs, there is a chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services
- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
