At the seventh London Spirits Competition, held in London in March 2024, Isle of Wight Gin Company’s signature gin ‘Island Spirit Gin’ won a Bronze medal, considered to be the ultimate seal of approval in the global spirits industry.
The awards attracted entrants from over 50 countries all looking to benchmark themselves against their global competition, judged in three areas the spirit must score well for taste, price and packaging.
Jackman: Truly over the moon
Based in Godshill where they grow, distill and bottle their gin, rum and vodka, Leigh Jackman from Isle of Wight Gin said,
“We are truly over the moon to shine a light on an Island grown and produced product, we are very passionate about taste so are very honoured to receive this award.”
Island Spirit Gin is inspired by the Summer Breeze on the Island, using mainly Island botanicals and is only sold through farm shops, tourist attractions and family owned businesses on the Island.
Family-run business
Isle of Wight Gin, a local family run business, hand craft their range of gins on the Island using a traditional copper still and carefully crafted recipe of local botanicals to make a deliciously smooth ‘London Dry Gin ‘ style gin and bottled in a beautiful Italian designed ‘art deco’ style bottle.
The Gin is crafted to be very smooth meaning it can be sipped neat over ice or with a plain or light tonic to enhance its subtle notes.
