21-year-old Dominic Marsh is someone you are likely to hear more about in the future. This very talented Isle of Wight Kick-boxer is not only British number one, but also on the GB kickboxing team.
Competing against the best in the world, last weekend Dominic brought home a Bronze medal from the Austrian Classic kickboxing tournament.
He’s not just following in his father’s footsteps, because his dad, Steven Marsh, was former IMAO British Kickboxing Champion and fought at European level, but has surpassed him and is fighting full contact kick-boxing at a higher World level.
Wood: A great experience for Dominic
Darren Wood, Dominic’s Godfather, told News OnTheWight,
“Last weekend was a great experience for Dominic.
“He won his first fight against the Switzerland National team fighter a unanimous 3-0.
“He then went on to face the Spanish fighter – who is ranked number two in the world and won the world championship last September. Dominic fought courageously, but unfortunately lost, which left him in third place taking the bronze medal.”
World Cup championships
Dominic, who runs Isle of Wight Panther Kickboxing Club with his dad, will be competing with Team GB in Birmingham next month and he’ll then attend the World Cup championships in Istanbul Turkey.
Seeking sponsorship
Obviously travel, whether it is national or international can start to become quite expensive, so Dominic is seeking sponsorship to enable him to continue to compete at world level and reach the top.
