- The month kicked off with live coverage of the Cabinet meeting who were voting on the future of the Island’s libraries and public toilets.
- Residents in Ryde had a shock one quiet Sunday afternoon, when the Air Ambulance landed on St John’s Road.
- The super low tides provided a great filming opportunity for Christian Beasley.
- Sad news reached us on 18th when we heard that music legend, Jet Harris had died.
- At the end of the month Cllrs Brown and Pugh walked out of a PFI presentation after accusing the ‘opposition’ of trying to “destroy this PFI opportunity”.
- Chief Executive of the council, Steve Beynon, wrote in the internal newsletter about the public consultation for the libraries and toilets
- Half way through the month, a number of residents instructed Leigh Day & Co Solicitors to challenge a decision taken by the Isle of Wight Council about the library service on the island.
- Davina Fiore: £100,000 For A Four Day Week From IW Council
- The cost of keeping the libraries as they were, was revealed to be £236,000 by Cllr Blezzard.
- You all had lots to say about the plans to increase capacity at Isle of Wight Festival to 89,999.
- PFI reared its head again, this time after Cllr Giles seemed to have trouble explaining the true value of Highways PFI to the Island.
- Sadly the month ended with the news that the Arts Council were cutting their funding for Quay Arts Centre.
