Following on from the brilliant news of how successful the pop-up music shop at Isle of Wight Festival was, we have more exciting news from the Oxfam Isle of Wight Books and Music Shop.
Indie rock band from Stafford, Editors, have chosen to release their Exclusive Limited Edition 12” Vinyl just through the top Oxfam music shops and as the Newport branch is in the top 25 Oxfam shops in the UK (They were top in the South last week!), they’re selected.
Innovative collaboration
This is part of a partnership between the music biz and Oxfam shops across the UK and mainland Europe.
Manager Rowan Baylis, said:
“We have people from all over the Island, and tourists from all over the world in our shop. People are amazed at some of the vinyl donations we have in stock.
“We are very excited to be one of Oxfam’s top 25 music stores in the UK and chosen to sell this new record … every copy sold – and every record donated to the shop will help us raise money to fight poverty around the world.”
Available now
The limited-edition 12” ‘Marching Orders’, which is the title single from the band’s new album launching later this year, is now on sale in Oxfam Isle of Wight Books and Music.
The exclusive record retails at £8, with copies in 25 Oxfam shops across the UK.
More than 600 Oxfam shops, including IOW Books & Music sell second-hand music. The charity sells around £6 million of music every year, enough to build 120,000 latrines or provide safe water for 6 million people.
