Back in April OnTheWight shared news of a group of female Islanders who were getting ready to compete in the British and European Powerlifting Championships.
Well, these three women not only competed in the European Powerlifting Championships in Stoke-on-Trent earlier this week (6th June), but they came back home to the Isle of Wight with medals!
Medals galore!
Congratulation to Victoria Brodie (far left) who picked up a third place bronze medal, Tanya Brodie who fought her way to second place gaining a silver medal and Kelly Matthews (right) who came home with a third place bronze medal.
Coach Scott Byrne, (owner of Strong Room in Cowes) is one very proud coach.
The women are now now back in training for the British championships in September. Best of luck to them all.
Thanks to Jo Case for the heads-up.
