Since its inception in 2017, Isle of Wight Pride has staged an annual event for the Islands LGBTQIA+ local and wider community. The event has been based on available resources and included a parade, community village and entertainment.
This year, on Saturday 19th July, Isle of Wight Pride will hold its annual event and applications to join the parade and community village are now welcome via our website.
Income reduction by 70%
Each year Pride has faced challenges, and this year is one of the largest, and one that has mainly been brought about by the current economic climate. Our key sponsors once again continue to support us in many different ways, for which we are very grateful and could not do Pride without them. Isle of Wight Pride is a charity run entirely by volunteers and funded by sponsorship, fundraising and event generated income.
In staging this year’s Pride, due to forces beyond our and others control, we are now facing a reduction in income of around 70%, so we are making some changes to ensure the viability of the event and the continuation of the charity.
New venues and ticket changes
Our parade continues as before, and our entertainment and community village will move from Harbour Beach to Eastern Gardens, in and around the Pavilion Bar and Balcony nightclub.
This year we announced a charge for tickets to view the entertainment.
Our daytime show will now be free for all to view, as will the community village and parade.
Tickets for evening entertainment
Our headliners, including Rozalla, La Voix and N-Trance DJ set, will be performing in the Balcony and we will be selling tickets for the evening entertainment. We are contacting everyone who has already purchased tickets.
Those with VIP tickets will have access to the Balcony evening entertainment or may claim a refund. All general admission tickets will be refunded.
Full details can be found on the website along with parade and community village applications, and how to take part as a sponsor or volunteer.
