The Wightlink User Group (WUG) is reaching out to residents and business owners on the Isle of Wight to share personal stories about the impact of Wightlink ferry cancellations, delays and timetable issues.
These stories are being gathered as part of a request from the Isle of Wight council, who are working in coordination with the Department of Transport. By collecting feedback from those directly affected, WUG hopes to highlight the broader impact of service disruptions on the Island community.

WUG representatives emphasise that every voice matters in helping to create a clearer picture of how Wightlink services are affecting daily life and local businesses. They encourage those affected to share their experiences, with a view to improving communication and transparency around ferry operations.
Upcoming Wightlink consultation meeting
The Wightlink Management Team is set to hold a public consultation at Quay Arts on Wednesday, 30th October. The meeting will run from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, and WUG is urging Island residents and business representatives to attend.
This session provides an opportunity for the public to speak directly to the Wightlink Management Team about concerns, particularly regarding ticket pricing and scheduling. Wightlink has posted further information on its website for those interested in attending.
Social event and fundraiser
Following the consultation, the Wightlink User Group will host a social event on Friday, 1st November at The Chequers Inn, Rookley. The evening will feature a quiz, music and a raffle, with all funds raised going towards a documentary project.
The documentary aims to capture the real-life impact of Wightlink’s ferry service on Islanders, businesses, and visitors. Those interested in reserving tickets for the event are invited to email [email protected].
