APSE HEATH:
A3056 Newport Road (from Apse Heath Mini Roundabout to a point 120 metres towards Arreton). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 29 February and Wednesday 2 March 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
BEMBRIDGE:
Kings Road (outside TheRuskins) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day between Monday 22 February and Wednesday 24 February for manhole works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
BONCHURCH:
Balaambs Passage footpath will be closed from 8.30pm on Friday 8 January until 8.30pm on Friday 29 July 2016 between Bonchurch Village Road and The Pitts. The route for pedestrians will be: Bonchurch Village Road, Bonchurch Shute and The Pitts. The road closure is required until retaining wall repair works have been undertaken.
BRADING:
A3055 Morton Road (outside Avalon). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Tuesday 23 February 2016 for cable repair works by A/plant for British Telecom. Traffic delays are likely.
CALBOURNE:
Winkle Street will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period from Monday 22 February until Friday 26 February 2016. The closure is between Lynch Lane and the end of the highway for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. There is no alternative route for traffic.
CARISBROOKE:
Castle Street (Outside 16). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Tuesday 1 March until 4.30pm on Monday 7 March 2016 for the installation of a new gas service by Southern Gas Networks. Traffic delays will occur.
CHALE:
Chale Lane / Pyle Shute will be closed on approximately 5 to 8 days between 6.30am and 6pm during the period from Friday 19 February 2016 until Friday 4 March 2016.
The closure is from Town Lane to Southdown Lane and is for highway works by Island Roads.
The alternative route for traffic is; Town Lane, Chale Green, Chale Street, Church Place, A3055 Military Road and Southdown Lane.
COWES:
Newport Road will be closed from approx. 9am on Wednesday 13 January 2016 until 4pm on Thursday 24 March 2016 between Three Gates Road and Nodes Road. The road closure is for the installation of a new 450mm size water main. The route for diverted traffic will be: Three Gates Road, Place Road and Nodes Road. The works form part of a new water main project between Three Gates Road, along Newport Road to the Newport side of Northwood traffic lights.
EAST COWES:
Esplanade will be closed from 2.30pm on Friday 25 April 2014 for the foreseeable future between 375 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road and the end of the highway 860 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road. There is no alternative route for traffic. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road due to a landslip.
FISHBOURNE:
Fishbourne Lane (outside 52). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 22 February until 4pm on Friday 26 February 2016 for the installation of a new water service by Clancy Docwra for Southern Water. Some additional traffic delays will occur.
FRESHWATER:
Norton Green will be closed from 9am until 4pm on Thursday 25 February 2016 and Friday 26 February 2016. The closure is from the entrance to Mountfield Holiday Park (240 metres from A3054 Colwell Road) to A3054 Colwell Road for hedge and tree cutting works by Groundsell Contracting. The alternative route for traffic will be; Norton Green, Pixley Hill and A3054 Hill Lane.
GODSHILL:
Beacon Alley will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period from Tuesday 23 February until Friday 26 February 2016. The closure is between Whitwell Road and Bagwich Lane and is for carriageway repair works near to the bridge by Island Roads. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Whitwell Road, West Street, A3020 Newport Road and Main Road, Niton Road and Beacon Alley.
A3020 Newport Road (from Munsley Farm Lane to Worsley Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 29 February and Wednesday 9 March 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
HAVENSTREET:
Havenstreet Main Road (outside Woodlands). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on Monday 29 February 2016 for the replacement of a sewer frame and cover by P Fitzsimmons Dyno Rod.
LAKE:
Ranalagh Road / Cliff Road / Cliff Path. From 1200hrs on Friday 18 July 2014 for the foreseeable future the following roads / path will be closed to vehicular traffic:
Cliff Road / Cliff Path will be closed from point 55 metres to the northwest of the junction with Ranalagh Road to point 185 metres to the south west of the junction with Cliff Gardens (the southern boundary of number 6). Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road. During the period of closure there is no alternative route for vehicles. The closure is required due to erosion. Pedestrian access will be maintained as usual.
A3055 Sandown Road (from Winchester House to Cemetery Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 9 May and Friday 13 May 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
NEWPORT:
Furrlongs will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period from Friday 19 February until Tuesday 23 February 2016. The closure is between Pan Lane and Grove Close for carriageway repair works outside number 76 by Island Roads. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Furrlongs, Staplers Road, Snooks Hill, Coppins Bridge and St Georges Way and Furrlongs.
South Street (outside ATS tyres) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 7.30pm until 6am on each night (Mondays to Fridays) between Wednesday 17 February and Friday 26 February 2016 for carriageway repairs by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3054 Fairlee Road (at the junction with Mill Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Sunday 21 February until 4pm on Tuesday 23 February 2016 for the installation of a new water service by Clancy Docwra for Southern Water. Some additional traffic delays will occur. Motorist should expect additional traffic delays and if possible use an alternative route.
A3020 St Georges Way (junction with Shide Road and Blackwater Road).
Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on Wednesday 24 February or on Thursday 25 February 2016 replacement of a sewer frame and cover outside number 59 Shide Road by P Fitzsimmons Dyno Rod. Some traffic delays are likely.
A3054 Forest Road (from the access road to Parkhurst Forest 270 metres towards St Marys Roundabout to Public Footpath F50). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Monday 22 February and Friday 26 February for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
ROOKLEY:
Niton Road (various locations between Dolcroft Road to Harts Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 6.30am until 6pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 22 February until Friday 4 March 2016 for works to vehicle access by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3020 Main Road (various locations from Niton Road to Pritchett’s Way). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 29 February and Wednesday 2 March 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3020 Main Road (outside Pagham Place) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 22 February and Monday 29 February 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
RYDE:
Spencer Road will be closed on one day between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Tuesday 23 February 2016. The closure is between Augusta Road and the end of the highway at Beach Grove for carriageway / drainage repair works outside 51 Spencer Road by Island Roads. There is no alternative route for traffic. During the closure vehicular access to Northwood Drive, Beech Grove, Buckland Gardens Spencer Glade and Coniston Drive will not be possible except in urgent and emergency cases.
The Strand will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period from Friday 19 February until Tuesday 23 February 2016. The closure is between East Hill Road and Simeon Street for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. The alternative route for vehicles will be: Esplanade, Dover Street and The Strand.
Playstreet Lane will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period from Monday 22 February until Friday 26 February 2016. The closure is between Pellhurst Road and the end of the highway to the south west of the junction with Corbett Road for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. There is no alternative route for traffic.
Selden Avenue will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period from Friday 26 February until Tuesday 1 March 2016. The closure is from the eastern junction with Marina Avenue to the western junction with Marina Avenue for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. The route for diverted traffic will be: Appley Road and Marina Avenue.
Ashey Road (from Brading Down Road to East Ashey Lane). A Temporary 30 mph speed restriction will be in operation for about two to three weeks between 6.30am on Monday 1/2/16 and 11pm on Saturday 12/3/16 from Brading Down Road to East Ashey Lane from to enable safety barrier works to be undertaken by Island Roads. Temporary traffic lights will also be in operation.
SANDOWN:
Ferncliff Path will be closed to pedestrians from 9am on Monday 22 February until 4pm on Friday 18 March 2016. The closure is between Esplanade and Ferncliff Road for safety works by Island Roads. The alternative route for pedestrians will be: Esplanade, Pier Street, Beachfield Road and Ferncliff Road.
Albert Road / Victoria Road will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period from Friday 26 February 2016 until Tuesday 1 March 2016. The closure is between Station Avenue and Avenue Road and is for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. The one way restriction in Albert Road / Victoria Road will be temporarily suspended from High Street to Avenue Road to allow access. The route for diverted traffic will be: Albert Road, High Street, Pier Street, Battery Slipway, Esplanade and Avenue Slipway.
Avenue Road (outside 56). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Monday 7 March 2016. for cable repair works by A/plant for British Telecom. Traffic delays are likely.
SHANKLIN:
Cliff Path will be closed from 9.30am on Monday 20 January 2014 for the foreseeable future to pedestrians from Skew Bridge Path to Winchester House Car Park. The closure is required due to erosion/ land movement. During the period of closure the alternative route for pedestrians will be; Skew Bridge Path, A3055 Sandown Road and Winchester House Car Park.
A3055 Sandown Road (from Alresford Road for approx. 300 metres towards Lake). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 7.30pm until 7am on each night (Mondays to Fridays- not Bank holiday Monday 2 May 2016) between Thursday 21 April and Monday 9 May 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
James Avenue (Chelsfield Road to James Avenue). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Thursday 10 March and Monday 21 March 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Green Lane (from Wheeler Way to Chelsfield Avenue). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Wednesday 6 April and Tuesday 19 April 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3055 Church Road (outside the Old Thatch Tea Rooms). Temporary 2 way traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Friday 19 February until Friday 18 March 2016 due to scaffolding in the highway for roof repair works by Emerald Construction.
Some traffic delays are likely.
Green Lane (from Witbank Gardens to King Edwards Close). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 21 March and Tuesday 5 April 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Landguard Manor Road (from Green Lane to Witbank Gardens)). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Tuesday 22 March and Monday 4 April 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Apse Manor Road will be closed on each day from 9am until 4pm between Monday 22 February and Friday 26 February 2016. The closure is between A3020 Godshill Road and Ventnor Road for drainage works at the culvert by Island Roads. The route for diverted traffic will be: A3020 Godshill, Canteen Road and Ventnor Road.
ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton. Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation for the foreseeable future. Access to businesses and attractions in Undercliff Drive will be maintained. During the period of closure the alternative route for traffic will be;
Pedestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Public Footpath V81, V77, NT28, NT29, NT30 and A3055 Undercliff Drive. Cyclists and Equestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Seven Sisters Road, St Lawrence Shute, Whitwell Road, Ventnor Road, High Street (Whitwell), Kemming Road, Chatfield Road, Rectory Road, High Street (Niton), Institute Hill, Barrack Shute and A3055 Undercliff Drive.
VENTNOR:
Castle Road (between Zig Zag Road and Gills Cliff Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from Tuesday 30 December 2014 until approx. 1 April 2016 until retaining wall works have been completed by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Longdown Steps Public Footpath V102 will be closed from 10am on Monday 12 May 2014 for the foreseeable future between South Street and St Catherine’s Street. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons using the footpath until wall repair works have been undertaken. The diversion route for pedestrians will be; South Street, West Street, High Street, Victoria Street, Wheelers Bay Road and St Catherine’s Street.
Castle Road (between Zig Zag Road and Gills Cliff Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from Tuesday 30 December 2014 until approx. 1 April 2016 until retaining wall works have been completed by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
B3327 Newport Road, Ventnor will be closed from Monday 4 February until Sunday 13 March 2016 between Down Lane and Gills Cliff Road / Ocean View Road. The road closure is for Geotechnical carriageway works by Island Roads. The route for diverted traffic will be: B3327 Ocean View Road, Mitchell Avenue and St Boniface Road, A3055 Leeson Road, Bonchurch Road, Cowleaze Hill, Church Road and High Street (Shanklin), A3020 Victoria Avenue, Godshill Road, B3327 St Johns Road, High Street (Wroxall), Clarence Road and Newport Road. Traffic from Newport to Ventnor should use: A3020 to Godshill, West Street, Whitwell Road, High Street (Whitwell), Ventnor Road, Whitwell Road and Gills Cliff Road.
A3055 Trinity Road (near Trinity Church) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 4pm on each day (between Wednesday 24 February and Friday 26 February 2016 for carriage way repair works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Zig Zag Road will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period from Monday 22 February until Wednesday 24 February 2016. The closure is between Castle Road and St Albans Road for carriageway repair works between numbers 24 and the top of Zig Zag Steps by Island Roads. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Castle Road, Gills Cliff Road and Ocean View Road.
Gills Cliff Road will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period from Monday 22 February until Friday 4 March 2016. The closure is between Castle Road and Whitwell Road for carriageway repair works outside 18 by Island Roads. The route for diverted traffic will be: Castle Road, Zig Zag Road, A3055 Alpine Road, Church Street and High Street, Spring Hill, Mitchell Avenue, Ocean View Road and Gills Cliff Road.
WHIPPINGHAM:
Public Footpath N214 will be closed from Crematorium Road to Public Footpath N114 between 9am on Wednesday 5 August 2015 and 9am on Friday 26 February 2016
The closure is required until urgent repair works have been undertaken to B171 Whippingham Cattle Creep. The alternative route for pedestrians is; Crematoriums Road, A3054 Lushington Hill, Racecourse and Fairlee Road.
WOOTTON:
New Road will be closed on one day during the period between 9am and 4pm during the period from Friday 19 February until Tuesday 23 February 2016. The closure is between A3054 High Street and St Edmunds Walk and is for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. The alternative route for vehicles will be; A3054 High Street, Church Road and St Edmunds Walk.
A3054 High Street / Kite Hill will be closed on approx. 7 nights from 7.30pm until 6am on each night (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 15 February and Wednesday 24 February 2016 (weather and other circumstances permitting). The closure is from New Road to Fishbourne Lane and is for carriageway surfacing works by Island Roads.
The road was not closed on the night of Wednesday 17 February 2016 due to bad weather.
The alternative route for vehicles will be; A3054 High Street, Station Road, Briddlesford Road, Downend Road,A3056 Arreton Street, Hale Common and Newport Road, A3055 Sandown Road, Lake Hill, Broadway, Avenue Road, Morton Common, Morton Road, New Road, High Street (Brading), Rowborough Lane, Beaper Shute, Brading Road, Marlborough Road, Alexandra Road, Stat Johns Hill, St Johns Road, Green Street, Argyll Street, Pellhurst Road, A3054 Binstead Road, Binstead Road Hill, Quarr Hill and Eleanor’s Grove.
