ARRETON:
A3056 Sandown Road (Merstone Lane to the western boundary of 1 Pyle Cottages)
A temporary 30 mph speed restriction will be in operation when required between 6.30pm on Friday 8 January 2016 and 6.30am on Monday 1 February 2016 for safety barrier replacement by Island Roads.
Mersley Down Road (various locations from Ashey Road to 725m from Bullys Hill rolling various locations). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Thursday 28 January until Saturday 30 January 2016 for carriageway coring works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
BEMBRIDGE:
B3395 Embankment Road (180 metres to 210 southeast of Latimer Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30am on each day between Tuesday 26 January and Thursday 28 January 2016 for carriageway coring works by Island Roads. Some traffic delays may occur
BINSTEAD
A3054 Quarr Hill (junction with Binstead Hill / Newnham Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 6.30pm on Monday 25 January until 6.30am on Tuesday 26 January 2016 for the installation of a new gas service by Southern Gas Networks. Traffic delays will occur.
BONCHURCH:
Balaambs Passage footpath will be closed Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 8.30pm on Friday 8 January until 8.30pm on Friday 29 July 2016 between Bonchurch Village Road and The Pitts. The route for pedestrians will be: Bonchurch Village Road, Bonchurch Shute and The Pitts. The road closure is required until retaining wall repair works have been undertaken.
BRADING:
A3055 High Street, Brading will be closed from 7.30pm until 9pm on Tuesday 26 January 2016 (weather permitting), between Quay Lane and West Street. The route for diverted traffic will be: A3055 High Street and Rowborough Lane, B3330 Carpenters Road and Upper Green Road, B3395 Station Road, Embankment Road, Kings Road, Sherbourne Street, High Street (Bembridge), Forelands Road, Steyne Road, Sandown Road and Marshcombe Shute. The closure is for drainage works by Island Roads.
West Lane will be closed from 0945 hours on Thursday 21 January until approx. 1530 hours on Monday 25 January 2016 between Doctors Lane and Harding Shute. Diversion Route: Coach Lane, A3055 High Street and New Road, Hornsey Rise, The Mall, Bully’s Hill, Brading Down Road, Ashey Road and Green Lane The closure is required due to emergency drainage works near Nunwell House by Island Roads.
CARISBROOKE:
Millers Lane, Carisbrooke will be closed from 8am on Monday 25 January 2016 until 5pm on Friday 5 February 2016 between Castle Lane and Clatterford Shute. The route for diverted traffic will be: Castle Lane, Castle Hill, Cedar Hill, B3323 High Street, Clatterford Road and Clatterford Shute. The road closure is required due to building works outside number 54 by A M Builders for the Isle of Wight Council.
COWES:
Denmark Road, Cowes will be closed on one day from 9.30am until 3.30pm between Monday 25 January 2016 and Wednesday 27 January 2016 from Granville Bridge Road to St Mary’s Road for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. The route for diverted traffic will be: Denmark Road, Cross Street and St Marys Road.
Newport Road will be closed from approx. 9am on Wednesday 13 January 2016 until 4pm on Thursday 24 March 2016 between Three Gates Road and Nodes Road. The road closure is for the installation of a new 450mm size water main. The route for diverted traffic will be: Three Gates Road, Place Road and Nodes Road. The works form part of a new water main project between Three Gates Road, along Newport Road to the Newport side of Northwood traffic lights.
EAST COWES:
Esplanade will be closed from 2.30pm on Friday 25 April 2014 for the foreseeable future between 375 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road and the end of the highway 860 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road. There is no alternative route for traffic. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road due to a landslip.
HAVENSTREET:
Stroud Wood Road (various locations Newnham Road to Carters Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 4pm on Tuesday 19 February 2016 for carriageway coring works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
LAKE:
Ranalagh Road / Cliff Road / Cliff Path. From 1200hrs on Friday 18 July 2014 for the foreseeable future the following roads / path will be closed to vehicular traffic: Cliff Road / Cliff Path will be closed from point 55 metres to the northwest of the junction with Ranalagh Road to point 185 metres to the south west of the junction with Cliff Gardens (the southern boundary of number 6). Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road. During the period of closure there is no alternative route for vehicles. The closure is required due to erosion. Pedestrian access will be maintained as usual.
Roseway, Lake will be closed from 9.30am and 3.30pm on one day between Monday 25 January 2016 and Wednesday 27 January 2016 from Linkside to Fairview Crescent. The route for diverted traffic will be: The Fairway, A3055 Lake Hill and Lake Green Road. The road closure is for carriageway repairs by Island Roads.
NEWPORT:
Chapel Street, Newport will be closed from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Saturday 23 January 2016 between St James Street and New Street. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Westbound: St James Street, Trafalgar Road and New Street and Eastbound: New Street, Pyle Street, High Street, Coppins Bridge Roundabout, East Street, South Street and St James Street. The closure is for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. Access to Chapel Street car park will be maintained from either the St James Street or the New Street direction during the closure, details will be signposted.
Albany Road (various locations from near Banner Lane to Whitesmith Road, Hunnyhill Primary School to outside 59 & 65). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Monday 15 February and Friday 19 February 2016 for carriageway coring works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
NINGWOOD:
A3054 Main Road outside Endfield Farm). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 9am until 3.30pm on Wednesday 27 January 2016 for cable works by British Telecom. Traffic delays will occur.
RYDE:
Great Preston Road (various locations from High Park Road to Nicholson Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 4pm on each day between Monday 25 January and Friday 29 January 2016 for footway surfacing works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Park Road will be closed from 9am until approx. 6pm on Wednesday 27 January 2016 or when the between Player Street and Riboleau Street. The route for diverted traffic will be: Star Street, George Street, Melville Street and Dover Street. The road closure is for the replacement of a sewer frame and cover outside number 75 by P Fitsimmons Dyno Rod for Southern Water.
Spencer Road (junction with Buckland Gardens). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8.30am on Monday 14 September 2015 until approx. 4.30pm on Friday 29 January 2016 for gas main replacement works by Southern Gas Networks. Some traffic delays will occur.
Victoria Street / John Street (from West Street to Garfield Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 6.30pm until midnight on each day as necessary between Monday 25 January and Friday 29 January 2016 for carriageway survey works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Appley Lane (from Ryde Inshore Rescue Station to gate by Appley Upper Car Park). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am on Tuesday 2 February until 4pm on Saturday 6 February 2016 for carriageway survey works by Island Roads. Some traffic delays may occur
Spencer Road will be closed from 8am on Friday 22 January unit approx. 4.30pm on Friday 18 March 2016 between Buckingham Road and St Thomas Street. The route for diverted traffic will be: eastbound: Spencer Road, West Street, Lind Street and St Thomas Street and westbound; St Thomas Street, Lind Street, St Thomas Square, High Street, Garfield Road, Victoria Street, John Street and West Street. The closure is for gas main replacement works.
East Hill Road (various locations from Ampthill Road to High Park Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Wednesday 27 January and Friday 29 January 2016 for carriageway coring works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Ashey Road (from 670 metres south west to 50 metres north east of the junction with East Ashey Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Tuesday 26 January and Thursday 28 January 2016 for carriageway coring works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
SHANKLIN:
Cliff Path will be closed from 9.30am on Monday 20 January 2014 for the foreseeable future to pedestrians from Skew Bridge Path to Winchester House Car Park. The closure is required due to erosion/ land movement. During the period of closure the alternative route for pedestrians will be; Skew Bridge Path, A3055 Sandown Road and Winchester House Car Park.
Collingwood Road (various locations from Landguard Road to the end of the road 210 metres to the west of Northbourne Avenue. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 4pm on each day Monday 25 January until Wednesday 27 January 2016 for carriageway coring works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Spring Hill (various locations from High Street to St Boniface Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 4pm on each day Monday 25 January until Wednesday 27 January 2016 for carriageway coring works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton. Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation for the foreseeable future. Access to businesses and attractions in Undercliff Drive will be maintained. During the period of closure the alternative route for traffic will be; Pedestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Public Footpath V81, V77, NT28, NT29, NT30 and A3055 Undercliff Drive. Cyclists and Equestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Seven Sisters Road, St Lawrence Shute, Whitwell Road, Ventnor Road, High Street (Whitwell), Kemming Road, Chatfield Road, Rectory Road, High Street (Niton), Institute Hill, Barrack Shute and A3055 Undercliff Drive.
TOTLAND:
The Broadway (outside 6 at the junction with The Mal). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 8 February until 4pm on Tuesday 16 February 2016 for the installation of a new gas service by Southern Gas Networks. Traffic delays will occur.
VENTNOR:
Pier Street will be closed from 9am until 6pm on Wednesday 27 between Albert Street and High Street. The one way restriction in Pier Street will be temporarily suspended to allow access. The diversion route will be: Market Street, High Street, Trinity Street, St Boniface Road, Mitchell, Avenue, Ocean View Road, Gills Cliff Road, Castle Road, Zig Zag Road, Alpine Road and Church Street. The road closure is for the replacement of a sewer frame and cover at the junction with Albert Street by P Fitzsimmons Dyno Rod.
Longdown Steps Public Footpath V102 will be closed from 10am on Monday 12 May 2014 for the foreseeable future between South Street and St Catherine’s Street. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons using the footpath until wall repair works have been undertaken. The diversion route for pedestrians will be; South Street, West Street, High Street, Victoria Street, Wheelers Bay Road and St Catherine’s Street.
Castle Road (between Zig Zag Road and Gills Cliff Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from Tuesday 30 December 2014 until approx. 1 April 2016 until retaining wall works have been completed by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Spring Hill (various locations from High Street to St Boniface Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 4pm on each day Monday 25 January until Wednesday 27 January 2016 for carriageway coring works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
WHIPPINGHAM:
Public Footpath N214 will be closed from Crematorium Road to Public Footpath N114 between 9am on Wednesday 5 August 2015 and 9am on Friday 26 February 2016. The closure is required until urgent repair works have been undertaken to B171 Whippingham Cattle Creep. The alternative route for pedestrians is; Crematoriums Road, A3054 Lushington Hill, Racecourse and Fairlee Road.
WOOTTON:
A3054 Kite Hill (at Wootton Bridge). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation again from the evening on Sunday 3 January 2016 until approx. 7pm on Friday 19 February 2016 due to bridge strengthening works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur. Motorists travelling between Newport and Ryde are advised to use an alternative route, if possible during the works such as via Long Lane, The Downs Road and Ashey Road.
Mill Square will also be closed during the above dates from the South-eastern junction with A3054 High Street to a point 18 metres to the North West of A3054 High Street. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Mill Square and A3054 High Street. The road closure is necessary whilst bridge works are undertaken. The Public Slipway will be closed at Mill Square near to the South-eastern junction with A3054 High Street during the same times.
Whiterails Road (from Butterfly World to a point 461 metres to the south west). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30am on each day between Tuesday 26 January and Thursday 28 January 2016 for carriageway coring works by Island Roads. Some traffic delays may occur
