APSE HEATH:
A3056 Newport Road (junction with Alverstone Road)
Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day between Tuesday 10 November until Thursday 12 November 2015 for manhole works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
ARRETON:
Mersley Down Road (on the bend between Knighton Shute and Rowlands Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 9am until 3.30pm on Monday 23 November, Tuesday 24 November and Wednesday 25 November 2015 for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
BRIGHSTONE:
Warnes Lane / Public Footpath BS25, Brighstone will be closed to vehicles pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders from 7am on Monday 26 October 2015 until 5pm on Friday 13 November 2015. The closure is from B3399 Main Road to the junction with Wilberforce Road. The alternative route for pedestrians, cyclists or equestrians will be B3399 Main Road, New Road and Wilberforce Road. Vehicular access to premises will be maintained overnight and at weekends. The closure is for drainage works.
Mill Lane/ Wicken Hill Lane / Thorncross Lane will be closed between 8am and 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between approx. Thursday 5 November and Tuesday 24 November 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting) from New Road to Chine Lane.
The alternative route for traffic is; Grange Road, A3055 Military Road and Chine Lane. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads.
B3399 Brighstone Road (150 metres Limerstone side of The Countryman). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 8am on Wednesday 11 November until 4.30pm on Thursday 12 November 2015 for cable works by LCM Contractors Ltd for British Telecom. Traffic delays will occur.
CALBOURNE:
Lynch Lane will be closed between 8am and 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between approx. Thursday 5 November and Friday 27 November 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting) from Moortown Lane to Freshwater Road. The alternative route for traffic is; Freshwater Road, Brook Road, Brook Hill, Brighstone Road, Hunny Hill and Moortown Lane. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads.
CARISBROOKE:
Clatterford Road (outside 24) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Tuesday 17 November until approx. 5pm on Friday 20 November 2015 for the installation of a new gas service by SGN. Some traffic delays will occur.
Gunville Road (outside 22) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 9am until 3.30pm on Thursday 5 November and Friday 6 November 2015 for footway repair works by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
CHALE:
Chale Lane / Pyle Shute will be closed between 8am and 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between approx. Tuesday 3 November and Monday 9 November 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting) from Town Lane to Southdown Lane. The alternative route for traffic is; Town Lane, Chale Green, Chale Street, Church Place, A3055 Military Road and Southdown Lane. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads.
EAST COWES:
Esplanade will be closed from 2.30pm on Friday 25 April 2014 for the foreseeable future between 375 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road and the end of the highway 860 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road. There is no alternative route for traffic. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road due to a landslip.
York Avenue (outside 200). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on Thursday 12 November 2015 for sewer frame and cover repair work by Dynorod Fitzsimmons Ltd for Southern Water. There may be some traffic delays.
FRESHWATER:
Afton Road (various locations between Afton Garden Centre and Blackbridge Road)
Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day between Monday 16 November and Friday 20 November 2015 for hedge & tree cutting works by Groundsell Contracting. Traffic delays will occur.
Newport Road / Freshwater Road, Freshwater will be closed between 6.30pm until 6am on each night (Mondays to Fridays) between Thursday 11 November and Thursday 26 November 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting) from Causeway to Shalcombe junction. The alternative route for traffic is; A3055 Afton Road, Military Road, Brook Village Road, Brook Hill, Brook Road and Shalcombe Road. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads.
GODSHILL:
Beacon Alley, Godshill will be closed from Whitwell Road Bagwich Lane between 7am on Monday 9 November until 5pm on Monday 21 December 2015. The closure is for drainage works by Island Roads. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Whitwell Road, High Street (Whitwell), Kemming Road, Chatfield Road, Rectory Road, Newport Road and Niton Road.
A3020 Shanklin Road (outside Sandford Farm) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 9 November until approx. 4.30pm on Friday 13 November 2015 for the installation of a new gas service by SGN. Some traffic delays will occur.
HAVENSTREET:
Combley Road (near to Guildford Farm). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 9am until 3.30pm on Monday 23 November, Tuesday 24 November and Wednesday 25 November 2015 for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
LAKE:
Ranalagh Road / Cliff Road / Cliff Path. From 1200hrs on Friday 18 July 2014 for the foreseeable future the following roads / path will be closed to vehicular traffic:
Cliff Road / Cliff Path will be closed from point 55 metres to the northwest of the junction with Ranalagh Road to point 185 metres to the south west of the junction with Cliff Gardens (the southern boundary of number 6). Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road. During the period of closure there is no alternative route for vehicles. The closure is required due to erosion. Pedestrian access will be maintained as usual.
A3055 Sandown Road (junction with A3056 Newport Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am on Monday 9 November until 4pm on Friday 20 November 2015 for works in connection with the replacement of the junction traffic lights by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Longwood Lane / Golf Links Road, Lake, Isle of Wight will be closed from 9am until 3.30pm on two days between Monday 9 November and Friday 13 November 2015 from Lower Road to The Fairway. The alternative route for vehicles will be; The Fairway, Station Approach, Perowne Way, A3055 Morton Common, Morton Road, Hornsey Rise and Lower Road. The road closure is for carriageway repair works on two days during the above dates.
LIMERSTONE:
B3399 Brighstone Road (near Short Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 8am on Monday 9 November until 4.30pm on Tuesday 10 November 2015 for cable works by LCM Contractors Ltd for British Telecom. Traffic delays will occur.
MERSTONE:
Merstone Lane (near Bohemia Corner) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4.30pm on Wednesday 11 November 2015 for hedge & tree cutting works by Groundsell Contracting. Traffic delays will occur.
NEWBRIDGE:
Main Road (approx. 250 metres Newbridge Village side of Dodpits Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation when necessary from 9am on Monday 14 September until approx. Friday 18 December 2015 in the interests of safety during the construction of a new solar farm by Anesco Ltd. Some traffic delays may occur.
NEWCHURCH:
Watery Lane (at the junction with Harbors Lake Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on Monday 16 November and if necessary on Tuesday 17 November 2015 for the installation of a bus shelter by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
NEWPORT:
Noke Common Road / Hillis Gate Road, Newport will be closed from 9am until 4pm on two days between Monday 9 November and Friday 13 November 2015 from A3020 Horsebridge Hill, to Rolls Hill Road. The closure is for carriageway repair works. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Horsebridge Hill, Cowes Road and Newport Road, Nodes Road, Pallance Road and Hillis Gate Road.
Shide Road (junction with Queens Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Tuesday 27 October and Thursday 29 October 2015 for the installation of a bus shelter by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3054 Fairlee Road (between the access road to North Fairlee Farm and the access to Fairlee Treatment Works). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 7.30pm until approx. 11pm on Wednesday 18 and if necessary on Thursday 19 November and Friday 20 November 2015 for carriageway repairs by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
NITON:
Newport Road will be closed from 6pm until 10pm on Wednesday 11 November or on Thursday 12 November 2015 between Rectory Road and Laceys Lane. The closure is for the replacement of a sewer manhole frame and cover by Dynorod Fitzsimmons Ltd for Southern Water. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Rectory Road, Chatfield Road, Kemming Road, High Street (Whitwell), Whitwell Road, West Street, A3020 Newport Road and Main Road, Niton Road and Newport Road., between 1800 hours and 2200 hours on one day during the above dates.
Blackgang Road (100 metres on Blackgang side of Village nameplate). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on Monday 23 November and if necessary on Tuesday 24 November and Friday 25 November 2015 for carriageway repairs by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
RYDE:
Argyll Street (junction with Pellhurst Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am and 3.30pm on each day between Tuesday 10 November and Thursday 12 November 2015 for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
West Street will be closed from 9am until 4pm on two days between Monday 9 November and Friday 13 November 2015 Lind Street to Spencer Road. The alternative route for vehicles will be; Lind Street, St Thomas Street and Spencer Road. The closure is for carriageway repair works near to the junction with Lind Street.
A3054 Binstead Road (near to Stonepits Close). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 9am until 3.30pm on Wednesday 18 November, Thursday 19 November and Friday 20 November 2015 for carriageway repair works by Island Roads.
There may be some traffic delays.
Spencer Road (junction with Buckland Gardens) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8.30am on Monday 14 September until approx. 4.30pm on Friday 27 November 2015 for gas main replacement works by SGN. Some traffic delays will occur.
Puckpool Hill (various locations from Appley Road to Springvale Road)
Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 9am on Monday 2 November until 4pm on Thursday 12 November 2015 for footway resurfacing works by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
Upton Road (near Windmill Close). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4.30pm on Friday 20 November 2015 for hedge & tree cutting works by Groundsell Contracting. Traffic delays will occur.
A3054 Queens Road (between 31 and Ryde School). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am on Wednesday 4 November until approx. 4.30pm on Tuesday 10 November 2015 for emergency gas main repair works by SGN. Some traffic delays will occur.
SEAVIEW:
Old Seaview Lane will remain closed between until approx. Monday 23 November 2015 from Solent View Road to Seaview Lane. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads. Diversions will be signposted.
SHANKLIN:
Cliff Path will be closed from 9.30am on Monday 20 January 2014 for the foreseeable future to pedestrians from Skew Bridge Path to Winchester House Car Park.
The closure is required due to erosion/ land movement. During the period of closure the alternative route for pedestrians will be; Skew Bridge Path, A3055 Sandown Road and Winchester House Car Park.
A3055 High Street (outside 75 to 77, at junction with A3020 Victoria Avenue). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am on Monday 28 September until approx. 8am on Sunday 15 November 2015 due to scaffolding erected for building works by SDS Scaffolding. Some additional traffic delays are likely.
Esplanade (outside Esplanade Gardens). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 14 December until approx. 5pm on Friday 17 December 2015 for the installation of a new gas service by SGN. Some traffic delays will occur.
A3020 Victoria Avenue (outside 58). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4.30pm on Monday 9 November and Tuesday 10 November 2015 for hedge & tree cutting works by Groundsell Contracting. Traffic delays will occur.
ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton. Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation for the foreseeable future. Access to businesses and attractions in Undercliff Drive will be maintained. During the period of closure the alternative route for traffic will be;
Pedestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Public Footpath V81, V77, NT28, NT29, NT30 and A3055 Undercliff Drive. Cyclists and Equestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Seven Sisters Road, St Lawrence Shute, Whitwell Road, Ventnor Road, High Street (Whitwell), Kemming Road, Chatfield Road, Rectory Road, High Street (Niton), Institute Hill, Barrack Shute and A3055 Undercliff Drive.
TOTLAND:
Moons Hill (various location between Middleton and High Down Lane). Temporary traffic control will be in operation from Monday 9 November and Friday 13 November 2015 for kerbing works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
VENTNOR:
Newport Road will be closed between 8pm and 6am from Down Lane to Rew Street on each night (Mondays to Fridays) between Tuesday 10 November and Wednesday 11 November 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting). The alternative route for traffic is; Newport Road (Ventnor), Ocean View Road, Mitchell Avenue, St Boniface Road, A3055 Leeson Road, Bonchurch Road, Cowleaze Hill, Church Road and High Street (Shanklin), A3020 Victoria Avenue and Godshill Road, St Johns Road, High Street (Wroxall) and Clarence Road. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads.
Longdown Steps Public Footpath V102 will be closed from 10am on Monday 12 May 2014 for the foreseeable future between South Street and St Catherine’s Street. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons using the footpath until wall repair works have been undertaken. The diversion route for pedestrians will be; South Street, West Street, High Street, Victoria Street, Wheelers Bay Road and St Catherine’s Street.
Castle Road (between Zig Zag Road and Gills Cliff Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from Tuesday 30 December 2014 until approx. mid November 2015 until retaining wall works have been completed by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A305 Undercliff Drive (outside Castle End, near Botanic Gardens) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am until 4pm on Tuesday 10 November and Wednesday 11 November 2015 (weather permitting) for concrete pouring works. Traffic delays will occur.
Spring Hill will be closed on two days between 9am and 3.30pm between Monday 9 November and Friday 13 November 2015 from St Boniface Road to Grove Road. The alternative route for vehicles will be; St Boniface Road, Trinity Road, High Street, Victoria Street, Albert Street, Pier Street and High Street. The road closure is for carriageway repair works on two days during the above dates.
WHIPPINGHAM:
Public Footpath N214 will be closed from Crematorium Road to Public Footpath N114 between 9am on Wednesday 5 August 2015 and 9am on Friday 26 February 2016. The closure is required until urgent repair works have been undertaken to B171 Whippingham Cattle Creep. The alternative route for pedestrians is; Crematoriums Road, A3054 Lushington Hill, Racecourse and Fairlee Road.
WHITELEY BANK:
A3020 Shanklin Road unction with Godshill Road (on roundabout). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 6.30pm until 6.30am on the nights of Wednesday 18 November, Thursday 19 November and Friday 20 November 2015 for carriageway repairs by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
WOOTTON:
Brocks Copse Road (junction with Palmers Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am on Monday 2 November until approx. 4.30pm on Friday 13 November 2015 for gas main replacement works by SGN. Some traffic delays will occur.
High Street (outside 157) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 6.30pm until midnight on Thursday 12 November 2015 for sewer frame and cover repair work by Dynorod Fitzsimmons Ltd for Southern Water. There may be some traffic delays.
