Prizes were awarded in a celebration at Farringford by Verrall Dunlop assisted by Mike Carr – President of West Wight Rotary Club.
The 2011 winners are Hannah Dunn (1st), Emily Willis (2nd) and Richard Liszka (3rd). Each of the winners read their poems to the delight of the audience followed by much deserved refreshments for all kindly supplied by Farringford.
Congratulations go to St. Saviour’s School, Totland, who produced all three of the 2011 winners.
“Such talented children”
In congratulating each of the winners, Verrall Dunlop added “What a privilege it is to have prizes given to such talented children in the wonderful surroundings of Lord Tennyson’s home”.
Chris Jarman, Vocational Chair of West Wight Rotary and organiser of the annual competition expressed his great thanks to Verrall and Rebecca for their support in judging the competition, and also to Rebecca and co-owner Martin Beisley for their generous use of Farringford and for the hearty refreshments.
