This Sunday sees Islander Nat Riddett take part in the TCS London Marathon in aid of the Isle of Wight Island Games Association.
Nat’s running in memory of his late father, and stalwart of the Association, Terry Riddett, who sadly passed away in February this year. He hopes to raise £2,000 and is halfway there.
Nat said,
“The London Marathon has always been a bucket list dream to attempt, and as soon as the chance to run for the Island Games was advertised I jumped at it.
“I hope that I will be able to help out, in a different way to what my Dad had been doing for the team over that last few years.
“I like to think this is also a nod to my Dad to say thank you for his efforts in the Island Games set up.”

Shanklin lass
Also taking part on Sunday is 25-year-old, Lucy Ellis from Shanklin.
Lucy has been applying for many years to run in the Marathon and as she now lives and works in London she’s been spending her weekends and early mornings running along the Thames to train.
Lucy’s Mum, Joanne, says her daughter often visits the Island and will always make time to run along the seafront. She is excited to represent the Isle of Wight on 2nd October.
Best of luck to Lucy and Nat, and anyone else taking part.
