Isle of Wight Sheepdog Trials raises almost £6k for Mountbatten: 2024 dates announced

Following a very successful inaugural event in 2023, The Isle of Wight Sheepdog Trial organisation is already underway, ready for 2024.

With a footfall of over 4,000 spectators the National Event put the Isle of Wight on the map as it hosted competitors from all over the British Isles.

Wheeler: Incredibly grateful to our sponsors
Organiser, Ian Wheeler, said,

“We were incredibly grateful to our sponsors this year, especially event sponsor, Red Funnel, and day sponsors, Go Internet and Mole Valley, as they got on board and helped make this initial event the success it was.”

A great weekend of trialing or relaxing in the sun
The sunny weekend and stunning location at Rowlands Lane gave both competitors and spectators alike a great weekend of trialing or relaxing in the sunshine in the beer garden with a Goddards Beer or a cup of tea and a slice of Calbourne Classics cake.

The trial delivered a true Island event with so many local businesses involved, including BCM, NFU, Hazelgrove Farm, Isle of Wight Meat Company, Fuhrmann Signs, Isle of Wight Skip Hire and LPH Groundworks plus many more traders as part of the I Love Wight Makers Market.

Almost £6,000 raised for Mountbatten
Organiser, Louise Hart, said,

“We were all overjoyed to be able to present The Mountbatten Hospice with a cheque for £5,873 this week and we can’t wait to be back next year to support the incredible Mountbatten Hospice again!”

The Isle of Wight Sheepdog Trials are organised by a voluntary committee made up of Ian Wheeler, Trevor Cooke, Angus Baird, Matt Legge, Victoria Calder and Louise Hart.

The Isle of Wight Sheepdog Trials returns on 1st and 2nd June 2024.
