The Isle of Wight Film Festival is making a final call for the seventh annual festival held in Ventnor on the 12th – 16th August 2014.
The festival offers an eclectic mix of Drama, Human Rights, Environmental and Isle of Wight made shorts as well as feature films from around the world.
High standard of entries
Offering a high standard of international short films which have in the past played at Cannes, Sundance and been BAFTA nominated, the festival offers local film makers to compete for the Best Isle of Wight Short Film with the prize being a handmade award from Sandown’s Glory Art Glass.
2013 saw a short film Jury made up of Human Rights, Environmental, local and Drama experts including the actor BAFTA nominated George Mackay – star of Sunshine On Leith, How I Live Now and Private Peaceful (see George giving first prize last year’s Drama winner Brian Harley above).
Present your work on an international stage
Bruce Webb the festival director said,
“We had film makers come from as far a field as Miami, Germany and France to show their films here on the Isle of Wight. If you are a local film maker this is the best chance you will get to present your work on an international stage and compete to be the top film maker on the Island.
“It has a wonderful atmosphere of collaboration and creativity being part of the Ventnor Fringe Festival and screenings are free for local film makers so if you haven’t got a film to enter please come down and pay us a visit during the event.”
1st May deadline
The festival is free to enter for Isle of Wight Films and the deadline is 1st May 2014 though film makers are advised to enter before then.
Entry must be made through Withoutabox, the details of which can be found on the IOWFF website
