ADGESTONE:
Lower Road will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period between Friday 1 April and Tuesday 5 April 2016. The closure is from The Mall to Upper Road for carriageway repair works by Island Roads.
Upper Road will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period between Friday 1 April and Tuesday 5 April 2016. The closure is from Brading Down Road to Lower Road for carriageway repair works by Island Roads.
ARRETON:
A3056 Arreton Road (junction with East Lane) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am and 3.30pm on each day between Monday 11 April and Wednesday 13 April 2016 for raising carriageway covers by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3056 Sandown Road & Blackwater Shute Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day between Wednesday 6 April and Friday 8 April 2016 for carriageway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
APSE HEATH:
A3056 Newport Road (junction with Princelett Shute). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day between Tuesday 29 March and Friday 8 April 2016 for drainage works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
BLACKGANG:
Blackgang access Road (outside car park). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from Tuesday 12 April until Monday 18 April 2016 for cable works by Morrison Utilities for British Telecom. Traffic delays are likely.
BONCHURCH:
Balaambs Passage footpath will be closed from 8.30pm on Friday 8 January until 8.30pm on Friday 29 July 2016 between Bonchurch Village Road and The Pitts. The route for pedestrians will be: Bonchurch Village Road, Bonchurch Shute and The Pitts. The road closure is required until retaining wall repair works have been undertaken.
CALBOURNE:
A3056 Yarmouth Road (at Bartons Corner) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day between Tuesday 12 April and Thursday 14 April 2016 for carriageway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
CHILLERTON:
Main Road (opp Chillerton Barn). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day between Tuesday 5 and Thursday 7 April 2016 for carriageway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
COWES / NORTHWOOD
From Saturday 2 April for about 1 week a one way restriction will be in operation in a Northbound direction from Nodes Road to Three Gates Road. Traffic will only be able to travel in this direction. Southbound traffic will be diverted via: Three Gates Road, Place Road and Nodes Road. The restriction is required in an effort to minimise traffic disruption during the water main works.
Temporary traffic lights will be required in Newport Road between Nodes Road and 300 metres Newport side of Northwood traffic lights from Tuesday 29 March until approx.the end of April 2016. The works form part of a new water main project between Three Gates Road, along Newport Road to approx. 300 metres Newport side of Northwood traffic lights.
COWES:
Ward Avenue will be closed from 6.30am until 6pm for approximately 5 to 10 days and nights between Monday 29 February and Friday 1 April 2016. The closure is from Park Road to Baring Road for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, and drainage works by Island Roads. Baring Road will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period between Monday 4 April and Friday 8 April 2016. The closure is from Ward Avenue to Castle Road for kerbing works by Island Roads.
EAST COWES:
Esplanade will be closed from 2.30pm on Friday 25 April 2014 for the foreseeable future between 375 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road and the end of the highway 860 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road. There is no alternative route for traffic. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road due to a landslip.
LAKE:
Ranalagh Road / Cliff Road / Cliff Path. From 1200hrs on Friday 18 July 2014 for the foreseeable future the following roads / path will be closed to vehicular traffic: Cliff Road / Cliff Path will be closed from point 55 metres to the northwest of the junction with Ranalagh Road to point 185 metres to the south west of the junction with Cliff Gardens (the southern boundary of number 6). Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road. During the period of closure there is no alternative route for vehicles. The closure is required due to erosion. Pedestrian access will be maintained as usual.
A3055 Sandown Road (from Winchester House to Cemetery Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 9 May and Friday 13 May 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
MERSTONE:
East Lane will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period between Wednesday 30 March and Friday 1 April 2016. The closure is from Bury Lane to the end of the highway. The road closure is for carriageway repair works by Island Roads.
NEWCHURCH:
Alverstone Road will be closed from 6.30am until 6pm for approximately 5 to 10 days between Thursday 24 March and Friday 22 April 2016. The closure is from A3056 Newport Road to Kern Lane for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, and drainage works by Island Roads. Wellington Road (outside 41 to junc with Kinchington Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am and 3.30pm on each day between Tuesday 28 March and Saturday 2 April 2016 for the installation of safety railings by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Sandy Lane (from Whitcombe Road to access to Whitecroft Park) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation Monday 21 March until Tuesday 5 April 2016 for cable works by Morrison Utilities for British Telecom. Traffic delays are likely.
Riverway (junction with Bernard Way). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation Monday 18 April until Friday 29 April 2016 for the installation of a new gas service by Southern Gas Networks. Traffic delays are likely.
Wilver Road (junction with Alderbury Road)) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day between Tuesday 12 April and Thursday 14 April 2016 for carriageway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
NORTHWOOD:
Oxford Street will be closed on approximately 3 days and nights between 9am on Tuesday 29 March and 4pm on Friday 8 April 2016. The closure is between Wyatts Lane and Newport Road for the installation of a new water main at the junction with Newport Road by Clancy Docwra for Southern Water
ROOKLEY:
Niton Road, Rookley will be closed from 6.30am until 6pm on approximately 5 to 10 days between Monday 29 February and Friday 8 April 2016. Cliff Path will be closed from 9.30am on Monday 20 January 2014 for the foreseeable future to pedestrians from Skew Bridge Path to Winchester House Car Park. The closure is required due to erosion/ land movement. During the period of closure the alternative route for pedestrians will be; Skew Bridge Path, A3055 Sandown Road and Winchester House Car Park.
A3055 Sandown Road (from Alresford Road for approx. 300 metres towards Lake). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 7.30pm until 7am on each night (Mondays to Fridays- not Bank holiday Monday 2 May 2016) between Thursday 21 April and Monday 9 May 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Green Lane (from Wheeler Way to Chelsfield Avenue). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 7pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 11 April and Friday 22 April 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Green Lane (from Witbank Gardens to King Edwards Close ). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 7pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 11 April and Friday 22 April 2016 for footway works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.

Station Road will be closed from 6.30pm until 6am for approximately 5 to 10 nights between Friday 1 April and Friday 13 May 2016. The closure is from Upper Green Road to Latimer Road for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, and drainage works by Island Roads. Field Lane will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period between Monday 4 April and Friday 6 April 2016. The closure is from Upper Green Road to the Southern junction with Westfield Road for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. During the works the one way restriction in The Diggings will be suspended.
B3330 Edington Road (outside St GHelens Church). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from Tuesday 29 March for approximately 3 to 4 weeks for wall repair works to St Helens Church by Terry Winterbottom. Traffic delays will occur.
ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton. Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation for the foreseeable future. Access to businesses and attractions in Undercliff Drive will be maintained. During the period of closure the alternative route for traffic will be; Pedestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Public Footpath V81, V77, NT28, NT29, NT30 and A3055 Undercliff Drive. Cyclists and Equestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Seven Sisters Road, St Lawrence Shute, Whitwell Road, Ventnor Road, High Street (Whitwell), Kemming Road, Chatfield Road, Rectory Road, High Street (Niton), Institute Hill, Barrack Shute and A3055 Undercliff Drive.
St Lawrence Shute will be closed on one day between 9am and 4pm during the period between Monday 1 April and Wednesday 6 April 2016. The closure is from Seven Sisters Road to Whitwell Road for carriageway repair works by Island Roads.
VENTNOR:
Longdown Steps Public Footpath V102 will be closed from 10am on Monday 12 May 2014 for the foreseeable future between South Street and St Catherine’s Street. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons using the footpath until wall repair works have been undertaken. The diversion route for pedestrians will be; South Street, West Street, High Street, Victoria Street, Wheelers Bay Road and St Catherine’s Street.
Castle Road (between Zig Zag Road and Gills Cliff Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from Tuesday 30 December 2014 until approx. August 2016 until retaining wall works have been completed by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3055 Church Street (junction with Alpine Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on each day between Wednesday 6 April and Friday 8 April 2016 for gully works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Marlborough Road will be closed at times between 8am on Tuesday 22 March and 4pm on Friday 8 April 2016. The closure is from Tulse Hill to the northern end of The Grove Car Park. The closure is required for utility service connections in connection with the construction of a new property between 20 metres and 41 metres west of the junction with Tulse Hill. The road will be open over the Easter Holiday period between Friday 25 March and Monday 28 March 2016.
WHIPPINGHAM:
Public Footpath N214 will be closed from Crematorium Road to Public Footpath N114 between 9am on Wednesday 5 August 2015 for the foreseeable future to pedestrians. The closure is required until urgent repair works have been undertaken to B171 Whippingham Cattle Creep. The alternative route for pedestrians is; Crematoriums Road, A3054 Lushington Hill, Racecourse and Fairlee Road.
WHITWELL:
Kemming Road (150 metres North East OF Kingates Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am on Friday 1 April until approx. 5pm on Thursday 7 April for cable works by British Telecom. Traffic delays are likely.
YARMOUTH:
High Street Yarmouth will be closed from Basketts Lane to The Common between 9.30am on Monday 4 April and 4pm on Friday 8 April 2016. The road closure is for the installation of a new electric connection by Scottish and Southern Energy. The one way restriction will be temporarily suspended.
