2015 has so far seen Claydon Connor play at the O2 for C2C Country to Country festival, play the Hard Rock stage at Isle of Wight Festival, perform live on BBCRadio Solent for the launch of his single and play live sessions on both BBC Introducing and Amazing radio.
‘Striking Matches’
Next up he will be supporting American duo ‘Striking Matches’ at the Wedgewood rooms, Southsea on 8th July. Famous for their intricate guitar licks coupled with beautiful vocals and clever lyrics, the duo has gone from strength to strength since they first had one of their songs featured in the hit TV show Nashville.
Their debut album has been hugely successful in their home country of the USA as well as climbing to number one on the UK iTunes charts within the first week of it being released.
Fresh from Nashville
Claydon himself jetted off to Nashville back in April where he spent ten days captivating audiences with live performances from his album ‘Under The Big Sky’ along with recently written new material.
He was booked to play several well known venues, from the intimate ‘Belcourt Taps’ to the colossal ‘WildHorse Saloon’ prior to his trip and managed to pick up several more whilst out there, including The world famous Bluebird Cafe and an exclusive originals night at ‘Rock Bottom Brewery’ which boasts spectacular city views from its roof top.
Claydon: “Excited to share the stage with them”
He says,
“Nashville was a great experience for me, being able to go and play my music at so many iconic venues in a place where music means so much.
“People come from all over the world to be a part of ‘Music City’. It was really special being able to share the experience with my brother and my dad, we had a blast, and now to be supporting ‘Striking Matches’ over here is great.
“They’re doing really well, and we’re excited to share the stage with them.”
