The Isle of Wight Council’s Public Transport Handbook has just received a big thumbs up from one of the UK’s leading bus and rail consultants and author, Barry Doe.
It’s high praise indeed as Barry describes the booklet as ‘outstanding’ in his latest review of timetable information booklets across the UK.
As we tend to source our information online, we weren’t even aware of the booklet but can see how useful it could be to those who rely solely upon public transport.
Apparently it is updated three times a year and features local maps, an index, has 12 pages on school transport and even details about the Cowes Chain Ferry.
You can pick yours up from libraries, tourist information centres and council help centres.
