As VB readers will remember, Team IW are currently out in Sardinia.
News reached us last night, that Isle of Wight swimmer, Izzy Blacklock achieved a great record yesterday.
Izzy received Gold in 50 backstroke making her, according to her coach, “the first ever swimmer to medal at World Youth Games” in Sardinia. This morning she has excelled again and picked up a Silver medal in the 200 backstroke.
Well done Izzy – this is a great achievement and best of luck to all the other Isle of Wight athletes competing. We hear that Kieran Phillips received a Bronze in hammer and Harrison Curling a Silver in the 1500m.
