Well done to all the students at Medina High School who gained special awards at a recent ceremony, but special congratulations to Ventnor lad, Jack Whitewood who was awarded the Jenny Nettleton Rose Bowl for passion and excellence in the performing arts.
Jack has many accolades to his name, but you might remember I wrote about him back in April, after seeing his play The Bench In The Park.
Jack and a group of his fellow students, put together a fantastic stage production of a play that Jack had written about the struggles of life during the second world war. They did this with very little adult help, organising funding, staging, costumes, etc., by themselves.
The production was hugely impressive and I had heard rumours that Jack might be taking it to the Winter Gardens. I do hope so, as I’d love to see it again and I’m sure that there are many people in Ventnor who weren’t able to make it along to the original production.
