If you love jazz but won’t be coming down to Ventnor this weekend for the festival, be aware that there is another quality jazz event taking place on the Wight on Friday.
Vaguely Sunny Promotions in association with The Farringford Hotel, are staging a concert at the Farringford Hotel, Freshwater featuring John Renbourn and Robin Williamson
Luminary acoustic guitarist and songwriter John Renbourn is best known for his collaboration with Bert Jansch. He also enjoyed great success with the folk/jazz fusion band Pentangle with whom he appeared at both the 1969 and 1970 Isle of Wight Festivals.
Scottish multi-instrumentalist, musician, singer, songwriter and master Celtic storyteller Robin Williamson made his name as a member of the Incredible String Band between 1966 and 1974. During that time the band were one of the most popular and influential groups of the era. This will be Robin’s first appearance on the Isle of Wight.
John and Robin will be performing both their own solo material at the concert as well as playing as a duo.
