Many thanks to Mrs James for sending through details of this event. Ed
Tomorrow afternoon (Friday) will see St Thomas’ Square transformed, as a live music event aims to raise awareness for missing Islander, Jeffrey Allen.
Local musicians will be donating their time to perform to show that Jeffrey Allen has not been forgotten. He’s been missing since leaving his home in Sandown in 1982, saying he was going camping with friends.
Jeff was living in Ryde in the care of IW Social Services at the time of his disappearance, though he visited his home in Yaverland, Sandown, often up to this point. He left home on August 22nd 1982 and has made no contact with his family since.
Great lineup for the afternoon
The event is being organised by Paddy McHugh of Vectis Radio and assisted by Mrs J, Vectis Radio Listener & Campaigner, who is also a friend of Jeff’s Mum, Ann Allen. She’s been assisted by Leigh Jackson, Jeff’s former girlfriend.
Musicians confirmed include Gareth Icke & Tim Pritchard, Gweido, Jack Gorman, Holly Kirby and Slombers Woke.
The event takes place between 2pm and 4.30pm and is being supported by Forever Searching.
Please pop by if you can and show your support.
