It’s fantastic to hear that the Joe Ellis Trust fund has now reached a massive £83,324.
There have been countless events taking place over the last four weeks since the appeal was launched to raise £100,000 for pioneering cancer treatment for 13 year old teenager, Joe Ellis.
Sadly Joe passed away at the beginning of last week, but his legacy will live on in the Joe Ellis Trust, now destined for other Isle of Wight kids fighting Cancer.
Live music fundraisers
Sunday’s live music fundraiser at The King Lud raised a whopping £1,605, whilst the live music event at The Bargeman’s Rest in Newport raised an equally brilliant £1,376.
Well done to all who took part, those who organised the events and those who donated. We know how much hard work you put into making the events a success.
Open invitation to Joe’s funeral
Joe’s family and friends will be celebrating his life tomorrow (Thursday), as they say goodbye
As Joe’s story touched the hearts of so many, his family issued an open invitation for all to attend the funeral which takes place at Newport Minster at 2pm.
All will be welcome, there will be limited space inside the church itself but there will be facilities for the service to be relayed outside.
The family have asked that there be no formal wear or black, please dress casual in Joe’s blue and purple colours.
The family have asked that we make as much noise for Joe by lining the roads from South Street round past McDonalds, right into Pyle Street to enter the square at The Wheatsheaf/ Olivos.
