Justin Adams is an excellent British guitarist and producer best known for his work with Robert Plant (he co-wrote Plant’s 2005 album Mighty Rearranger) and produced the first and third albums of Saharan desert blues sensations Tinariwen.
He is joined by Juldeh Camara, who is a Gambian griot and master musician – undoubtedly one of the leading riti (a one-stringed fiddle) players of West Africa, Juldeh is blessed with a fine voice and inspirational compositional skills.
He is now resident in the UK, and making his mark as both a solo performer and as a valuable collaborating musician.
Juldeh and Justin teamed up in early 2007 after Juldeh had been enjoying Justin’s work for some time – a friend had sent him a cassette containing some tracks from Justin’s CD Desert Road, and he would sit and play along at his compound in Bakau, entertaining the children and passers by. So he’s now very happy to be playing with Justin in real life! Their live shows feature Justin’s long time percussionist friend Salah Dawson Miller, who has played with Phillip Glass, The Drifters, Dr John, 3 Mustaphas 3 and Jah Wobble.
