Kara Rann :

Friends and family celebrate Kara Rann’s life

Friends and relatives of motorcycle racer, Kara Rann, will be celebrating her life this afternoon at the IW Crematorium from 3.45pm.

The 27 year old tragically died ten days after she sustained serious head injuries whilst racing at Pembrey Racing Circuit in Wales.

Kara had been involved wityh motorcycle racing since 1990 and this year competed in her first races at Castle Combe.

Riding a lap of the Isle of Wight TT
Readers may remember back in 2011, Kara spearheaded a campaign to bring a Tourist Trophy (TT) to the Isle of Wight.

Motorcyclist, Bryce Stacker, posted the following comments and video to YouTube this week in memory of Kara. The footage was shot in Summer 2013, when Kara took Bryce one of the proposed laps for the Isle of Wight TT.

He says,

This video is dedicated to the memory of Kara Rann. In it she is guiding me around a lap of what will be one of the most epic road race’s in the world.

A beautiful person, with endless time for friends and family. She took the afternoon off work with no notice to show me the Island, get my bike repaired and also show me her planned lay out of the Isle of Wight TT circuit.

It was her dream to see this road racing circuit in action one day. She was instrumental in its creation thus far and she will be sadly missed. You’d only have to have been around Kara and Marc yourself for half an hour to understand just how outgoing they and their family are and how dedicated they are to what they love.

Please support the Isle of Wight TT however you can and hopefully one day make it a fitting memory to the hardiness and dedication of Kara who pushed so hard for it to be a real event.

R.I.P. Kara.

Kara leaves behind her fiance, Marc McCullough and well as her four year old son, Brogan. Our thoughts are with all Kara’s family, friends, colleagues and team mates.
