In an inspiring display of commitment and endurance, Isle of Wight resident Neil Wood has embarked on a remarkable journey.
He is set to complete 100 push-ups each day throughout November. This feat aims to raise crucial funds for Cancer Research UK, a leading charity dedicated to fighting cancer.
A daily feat at iconic landmarks
Neil’s challenge involves performing the push-ups at various notable landmarks across the Island.
The landmarks chosen have been showcasing the beauty and heritage of the Isle of Wight, drawing attention to his cause.
Raising awareness and funds for Cancer Research
The motivation behind Neil Wood’s rigorous exercise regime is deeply personal. He’s chosen Cancer Research UK to benefit from his challenge after two friends were diagnosed with cancer this year, and also following the death of his brother’s girlfriend from cancer in 2019.
He aims to contribute to the fight against cancer, a disease affecting countless lives across the globe. Neil’s efforts align with the mission of Cancer Research UK, which works tirelessly to develop new treatments and strategies to combat cancer.
A call to action for support
The community is encouraged to show their support for Neil’s ambitious project by donating to Neil’s Just Giving page. He’s raised just over £200 so far, but given the efforts he’s going to, it would be great to see that increase before the end of the month.
Donations directly benefit Cancer Research UK. These contributions are vital in aiding the charity’s ongoing research and development of life-saving treatments.
The urgency of now
Neil’s message is clear and urgent,
“Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK.”
