There are just a couple more days for voters in East Wight to register to take part in the East Wight Primary secure online poll.
If you are on the electoral roll in East Wight, you are eligible to take part in the initiative. It’s aim is to find the progressive candidate most likely to beat the Conservative candidate, Joe Robertson, in the General Election on 4th July 2024.
There are six candidates vying for the seat in the new Isle of Wight East constituency:
- Emily Brothers (Labour)
- David Groocock (Independent – Get Island Roads Moving)
- Michael Lilley (LibDem)
- Vix Lowthion (Green)
- Sarah Morris (ReformUK)
- Joe Robertson (Conservative)
Register to take part
If you would like be part of a movement hoping to ensure the Conservative stronghold on the Island ends next month, East Wight Primary encourage you to take part in their poll.
You have until noon on Saturday to register to take part. Voting for the People’s Choice then begins on Sunday morning and runs for three days.

Those who have been uneasy about taking part in the secure online poll due to confidentiality fears can be assured that no-one at East Wight Primary sees who you have voted for.
They are using the OpaVote system, ensuring they never get to see who voted for what, or even who voted. All they receive are the vote counts/share.
