Letter: Pre-election letter urges support for families in poverty, not the powerful

OnTheWight always welcomes a Letter to the Editor to share with our readers – unsurprisingly they don’t always reflect the views of this publication. If you have something you’d like to share, get in touch and of course, your considered comments are welcome below.

This from Hans Bromwich, Cowes. Ed

As we reflect upon the last 14 years of Government who better to sum things up than Jonathan Pie (see link below).

When your hand is hovering over the ballot paper on Thursday, try and think of those less fortunate than perhaps yourself.

It would be nice to vote to lift many poor families and children, support them out of increasing levels of poverty, give them hope, rather than voting for a political Party that wants to increase their suffering.

What kind of rich Country goes from a handful of food banks to thousands of food banks, and then tries to gaslight its population into thinking its failures are all because of a Pandemic, (they never prepared for), and Ukraine?

Vote for whoever you like, but please do not vote for another five years of this morally bankrupt government. Britain and its people are much, much, better than the current charlatans in power.

: Jonathan Pie’s satirical video contains very strong swearing that some readers might be offended by.
