We always welcome a Letter to the Editor to share with our readers. This one from David Nove on the subject of ferry tickets. Ed
Much publicity has been given to the decision of Wightlink to charge an admin fee if you book a ferry in advance by buying a ticket in person. The way to avoid such a charge is to book online.
Unlike Red Funnel, however, Wightlink still requires you to produce a computer print out at the Booking Office where it is exchanged for tickets.
Thus if you call at the terminal for an advanced booking you pay £4, but if you book online you still have to go in to the same booking office to collect your tickets.
Is it me or has the world gone stark staring bonkers?
