Thanks to Helen for this latest news from the Friends of Freshwater Library. Ed
A new fundraising initiative has been launched by the Friends of Freshwater Library (FOFL) with all proceeds going directly to support Freshwater library as it faces a challenging future in the light of recent cuts.
An attractive 2017 calendar has been created using photographs from local photographers, Ed Garbett and Clint Oliver.
A privilege to help the library
Ed Garbett, who took eleven of the twelve photographs, said:
“It was a pleasure to take these photographs and a privilege to be asked to use them to help the library.”
Ann Fraser, Chair of FOFL, said
“The West Wight is an area of outstanding natural beauty and we wanted to reflect its spectacular landscape. We feel that the twelve full colour photographs in the calendar perfectly capture everything that is so special about the beautiful West Wight.”
Active fundraising
The Friends of Freshwater Library raise funds for the library by holding events such as talks, music and films. We believe that the library is an essential resource for our community and its future generations.
With the help of FOFL volunteers we are able to guarantee the continuance of a library service in Freshwater in the face of cuts. This is made possible by volunteers giving of their time generously by committing to working in the library for the benefit of everyone in the community.
Where to buy
The calendar can be bought from Freshwater Library, The Cabin (Avenue Road) and Mrs Middleton’s Shop.
It’s also available online from the Friends of Freshwater Library Website from 8th March.
The cost is £5 per copy.
FOFL acknowledge the support of Freshwater Parish Council in the future continuance of library provision in Freshwater.
