The Cabinet members of Isle of Wight Council meet tonight at County Hall and VB will be covering the meeting live.
Amongst the agenda items being discussed will be a report from the Cabinet Member for Resources, Peter Bingham.
He’ll be seeking approval of recommendations proposed to the ‘Service Re-Design’ (PDF).
Update on Westminster House?
As highlighted many times on VB over the past couple of months, it covers a number of areas where budget savings are planned. The list includes leisure services, street based services, highway services and probably most importantly to many of our readers Community Services.
This covers the Home care night service, a Learning and Disability Review (Westminster House) and the Internal Home Care review.
Cuts to youth services
Also up for discussion are funding cuts to youth services. Council Leader David Pugh will be presenting proposals for a reorganisation of Youth Services (PDF) which recommends that spending levels on youth services be reduced to fall into line with national average levels.
Improvements to leisure services
Cllr George Brown, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for the Economy, Tourism, Leisure and Planning will be presenting the Gateway Review (PDF) for improvements to leisure services.
New dog exclusion zones
And finally, an amendment to the Dogs Control Exclusion Order (PDF) will be presented by Cllr Barry Abraham.
