Further to our report yesterday of the last minute public hustings pulled together by Independent candidate, Pete Harris, we can now confirm more details of who’ll be in attendance tonight.
Mark Chiverton (Lab), Ian Dunsire (EngDem), Paul St-John Martin (MidEng), Paul Randle-Jolliffe (Ind) and Peter Harris (Ind) have all confirmed they will attend.
Andrew Turner (Cons), Mike Tarrant (UKIP) and Bob Keats (Green) are all unable to attend due to other commitments.
Geof Clynch (BNP) told Pete that he would not be attending as he feared being branded a ‘Racist’. His words, we’re told.
Jill Wareham’s (LibDem) office reported to having issues with the lateness of the arrangement and of David Holmes acting as ‘chair’. They haven’t as yet made it clear whether or not they’ll attend.
Pete was yet to hear back from Edward Corby.
Time and place
The meeting kicks off at 7.30pm at the Ambassador Snooker Club – this is opposite Argos on Gunville Road (which is serviced by Route 38 bus).
Members of the public are invited along to hear each candidate present for three minutes before the floor is opened up to public questions.
VB reporting live
As we did with the other Sandown hustings, subject to mobile coverage, VB will be reporting live tonight.
As always we don’t report verbatim, but endeavour to give VB readers a flavour of what is being discussed.
We will also be audio recording the event for broadcast on VB tomorrow.
