A VB reader got in touch this morning asking if we had news of a collision between a horse and a car driver yesterday.
Police have been able to confirm they were called to a report of a road traffic collision at 3.23pm on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Hill Lane, Freshwater.
A Ford Focus and a pony with no rider were involved in a collision.
The Ford driver, a man aged in his 30s from Freshwater, and a passenger, a woman aged in her 20s from Freshwater, were shaken but not injured.
Pony put down
The pony was put down by a vet because of the injuries it received in the collision.
Part of Hill Lane was closed until 5.50pm on Sunday, July 31, 2011.
No criminal offences were identified at the collision scene.
