Police have confirmed that a man from the Isle of Wight has today been charged over a fatal car crash that took place in January.
Readers will remember the tragic incident on the Military Road in which two people died.
The accident occurred when a Volkswagen Polo collided with a Suzuki motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction.
Two died
23-year-old Emily Buley, who was the front-seat passenger in the Polo, died on arrival at St Mary’s Hospital in Newport.
The motorcyclist, 22-year-old Andrew Newnham, also died later at Southampton General Hospital.
A 24 year old man from Freshwater was today charged with two counts of causing death by careless driving and is due to appear at Newport Magistrates Court on Friday 27th August.
