Police on the Isle of Wight are appealing for witnesses to an assault in which a man received serious injuries.
Police were called to the Qube nightclub in Ryde at around 2am, to an incident in which a 25-year-old man from Newport had been assaulted and was unconscious. He was taken to hospital on the island but later transferred to Southampton where his condition is serious.
The incident happened at the back of the nightclub, in the area reserved for smokers.
Police are appealing for anyone who has information about the incident, particularly if you were in the Qube nightclub last night, to contact Detective Sergeant Clare Crane at Newport CID on 101.
