Man urinated on car. Returned with knife. Did you see? (updated)

Police are appealing for information following an incident in Sandown.

At some time between 8.45pm and 9.30pm on Saturday, February 27 a man was seen urinating against a parked car on Leed Street at the junction with St John’s Road. He then left the area.

Around 15 minutes later the man returned to the area and was holding a knife. He made threats towards members of the public and then caused damage to two parked vehicles using the knife, before leaving the area.

The offender is described as: white, around 6ft, thin/proportionate build, aged in his mid 20s and with short, dark wavy hair.

Detective Constable Kelly Thorne, said:

“I’d like to trace several members of the public who were in the road at the time of the incident. We know there was a man in the area who was walking a large white dog, a man wearing a red jacket and two teenage boys carrying backpacks.

“We’d really like to speak to these people so they can tell us what they saw. Were you approached by this man? Did you see what happened?

“I would urge anyone with information to come forward and speak to us in confidence.”
