Since Mick Smith joined Quay Arts, it’s been clear that his aim is to broaden the Quay’s musical offering. He seems to be listening to what people want and then delivering it.
In response to a number of requests, this offering now includes classical music.
This coming Saturday night, Quay Arts will play host to The Marylebone Trio. Three lovely young ladies with their oboe, clarinet and bassoon, will be the first classical musicians to the Quay.
They formed in 2003, all postgraduate students from the Royal Academy of Music, and will perform a mixed programme featuring some well-known composers including Mozart and Beethoven. The music will consist of fairly short movements, much of it light-hearted in style and the trio will introduce the music themselves, making for a pleasant and relaxed evening.
