Medina Books series of events continues in Cowes in June with two events celebrating the life of much-loved former Cowes celebrity, Uffa Fox.
Uffa dominated the sailing world as a designer, builder and sailor and you can hear more about his life at a Malcolm Turner’s book launch at Medina Books this Friday (2nd June), where he’ll be on-hand to say a few words and sign copies of the book.
Later in the month there’ll be a special event at the Royal London Yacht Club (Tuesday 13th June) where Malcolm will be talking about his new biography.
Uffa: Yachting’s Eccentric Genius
Uffa Fox was the most celebrated and successful yacht designer in the World.
Much more than that he was an irrepressible extrovert and novel thinker, as well as a singer, musician, journalist, author, painter, sportsman, campaigner, controversial business man and friend of royalty.
This new biography, the first for fifty years, celebrates a Universal Man who not only changed his sport, his Island and the lives of his friends, but also left an unfillable void. Such people are rare and his story deserves to be remembered.
