This coming Saturday is your chance to meet Bob and Carol Bridgestock, the creators of the DI Dylan crime fiction series.
The husband and wife duo, with 47 years of front line policing work between them, last month launched the sixth in the DI Dylan series, Killer Smile.
Dark territory
Bob, who retired as a Detective Superintendent of West Yorkshire police, handled some of the most notorious murder cases during his service and in particular the last three years before retirement, where he resided over 26 murder cases alone.
The new Dylan book, Killer Smile takes Detective Inspector Jack Dylan into dark territory when a serial killer with a fetish for teeth stalks the streets of Harrowfield.
Never a dull moment
Reflecting on their rise in popularity, Bob said,
“The last few years have been a whirlwind.
“There has been a lot of hard graft but so many exciting developments. Such as consulting on great TV shows such as Scott & Bailey and Happy Valley, having number one books on Amazon, signing with a leading London literary agent, selling the rights to Dylan for TV. It’s all a mystery to where it will lead us next. Who said retirement is dull!”
The couple were voted the eighth best crime writers of all time in a recent poll on the WHSmith Website and recently sold the rights to their DI Dylan books to The Gate Films.
Where and when
You can meet Bob and Carol on Saturday 18th July at Waterstones in Newport between 11am and 2pm.
