Meetings To Hear From Bidders For IoW Secondary Schools Start Tonight

A quick reminder that as part of the council’s planned schools reorganisation the high schools are due to become new secondary schools (taking pupils from age 11).

Organisations competing to run the new schools are presenting their proposals this week in a series of public meetings.

There are a mixture of island and off-island bids, with between two and three proposals to choose from for each school (the combination at each school is different).

Anyone can attend.

Remember, if you have children at primary or middle school these will be your children’s schools in a few years’ time, so this affects you.

Meetings are from 5.30pm (for a 6pm start) to 8.30pm:

Monday 13 July: Cowes High (for proposals for Cowes Secondary School)
Tuesday 14 July: Carisbrooke High (for proposals for Carisbrooke Secondary School)
Wednesday 15 July: Medina High Leisure Centre (for proposals for Fairlee Secondary School)
Thursday 16 July: Sandown High (for proposals for Sandown Secondary School)
Friday 17 July: Ryde High (for proposals for Ryde Secondary School)

Details of which organisations are bidding for which school are on the council’s Eduwight Website, with links to the full proposals.
