Met Office: Severe Weather Warning

The Isle of Wight has been covered in snow overnight and the snow showers are expected to continue today.

The latest update from the Met Office, which is valid until noon today says,

Widespread icy stretches are likely to form on untreated surfaces, especially where recent snowfall has occurred.

Lying snow is likely to drift in places in the strong northeasterly winds. Snow showers are likely to continue at times, mainly south of London, giving further accumulations of 2 to 5 cm in places.

Tomorrow is looking much better according to their latest update with no forecast of snow.

We’ll just have to see how things go.
