According to an article in the Times today, Michael Nyman, composer of minimalist music, will be bringing his band to the Isle of Wight to play Bestival this year.
Apparently he has over 50 gigs lined up this year and lucky for us, also on that list is Bestival 2009.
If you’ve never heard of Michael Nyman, he is most widely known as a composer of film scores for films such as The Piano, The Draughtsman’s Contract and Drowning by Numbers to name just a few from the very long list.
If you happen to be in the Bexhill on Sea area in the next month or so you might want to pop in to the glorious De La Warr Pavilion (worth a visit for the building alone) and check out a video work by Michael which opens on Saturday and runs until March 15.

Cheers to our mates over at Virtual Festivals who gave us the heads up on the news.
