Police on the Isle of Wight are appealing for witnesses after a car got tipped on it side and left in the road.
The Nissan Micra had been parked up in Lugley Street, Newport and had not been involved in any road accident. It’s believed it would have taken a number of people to have tipped the vehicle. It’s known it have happened sometime between 3.30am and 4.10am on Sunday, 8th November.
The damage caused to the car has meant that the vehicle’s insurers have written it off and owner Katy Locke (24) will not receive any money for it.
Katy said:
“It was a devastating blow to find my car like then when I got home. I’ve been told I won’t get any money for it now it’s been written off. I only got it earlier this year after saving up.
“It was my first car and now I’ll have to rely on public transport to get around.
“My brother had a stroke earlier this year and this will now make it more difficult for me to visit him.
“I’d ask anyone who knows who did this to contact the police.”
Those with information about the incident are asked to call PC Tom Wyld at Newport police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
