You might remember back in February that Bunbury and the MillBay owners displayed at the Winter Gardens their proposed plans of the Mill Bay Redevelopment and invited public comment.
From memory, when looking through the comments book, the number of objections to the scheme was far higher than those praising it. Most of the objections relate to the height of the development and how it towered over the seafront and blocked the view of the beautiful terraces that Ventnor is well known for.
Well, as you might’ve read in the County Press today, those plans have now been submitted to the planning department and are available to the public for comment.
Due to the copyright restrictions I am unable to post up a picture of the proposed development up here, so I’ve included my own rendition.
Not much detail in there you might say, but this is not about the detail, it’s about the scale.

Given the strength of feeling against the development, it’s surprising to see that not much has changed. It still appears to be pretty dominant.
