Mill Bay Revised Application Open For Comment

If you’ve been down to the Ventnor seafront recently you’ll have seen that work has started on the Mill Bay development.

Drawing of revisionOwners of the site were given permission to remove the current pub extension and construct a new extension and three town houses on the site.

The original application included a four storey block at the western end of the development, but this was refused permission by the planning committee.

New revision open for comment
A revised application was submitted to the planning department back in July, but we now hear than another revision has been made.

Thanks to VB reader Simon Kinsey for pointing out that this application is now open for public comment.

It’s not always easy to see exactly where the revisions have been made, but from our brief glance, it looks like the changes are to the cladding and roof material. The height seems to be the same as previously submitted.

Full details of the application can be found on the Planning Website. If you want to add a comment, you’ll need to do so by 2nd December.

Revision schedule
On a more general note, given it can often be hard to determine where changes have been made to revised applications, wouldn’t it be great if a revision schedule or list of all changes is included on all revised applications.

That way, when the public are invited to make comment on a revised application, they are properly informed on what it is they’re looking at.
