More accolades awarded to Calbourne Classics at the Royal Isle of Wight County Show. The awards were presented during a milestone year for the Island-based producers.

The Royal Isle of Wight County Show is a key event in the agricultural calendar. Calbourne Classics are always excited to participate in the weekend-long event which celebrates everything that they love about the Isle of Wight, including the local farmers, producers and our wonderful community.

So you can imagine their joy when they were awarded not only the Countryside Business Award but also the Overall Isle of Wight Rural Business Award.

The awards, which honour those who demonstrate success and achievement from all parts of the Island’s rural economy, come during what is a milestone year for Calbourne Classics.

Founded in 1989 by the late Jill Cawood, 2024 marks 35 years since they became established, so it really is a year for celebrating! Danny Horne, of the Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society, kindly acknowledged the founder during the presentation.

Jill was a champion for dairy farmers and a well-known figure in the agricultural sector. She had a dairy herd of her own at Three Gates Farm in Shalfleet and, following her death in 2015, two of her daughters Louise Hart and Jenny Simmons are proud to have been acknowledged with such a prestigious award nine years on.
